Designed for PB (Personal Best) hunters, weekend warriors and everyone in between, the VICTRA SPORT VR2 is our ultimate street and track tire. The new reinforced carbon black compound arrives at operating temperature quickly, delivering the same strong heat-cycle performance as the VR-1. A state-of-the-art aggressive pattern maximizes contact for full-throttle on-track performance, while retaining solid wet performance for those sudden downpours. Maxxis’ engineers created a brand-new casing design with ultra-high stiffness for near-telepathic responses to every input.

  • Next-generation racing compound with ultra-reinforced carbon black reaches operating temperature quickly and delivers a new level of dry traction along with excellent heat-cycle performance
  • Brand new casing design optimizes contact footprint and sharpens vehicle response for a more responsive driving experience
  • Aggressive new pattern design maximizes dry performance while retaining solid wet performance, delivering speed and control on the street and on the track
  • Due to the nature of the tread compound, special care is required when storing in near-freezing temperatures.

My car is glued to the floor and I don't know what to do.

Paul recommended me a set of VR2's after the Nexens were sold out for the year. Being the first set of 200tw tires I've ever had and swapping over from clapped 6 year old Yokohama Flevas, I really didn't know what to expect. My 2004 Miata being the tin can that it is, I didn't notice much difference in road noise. Thanks to Paul balancing the wheels to a tee it removed all of my steering wheel vibration that I had previously had. When I am doing my grocery runs to Trader Joes the car is extremely planted and the same goes for autocross. During my first practice lap I realized just how much more gripped up the car was and how little I was rolling over/sloshing around. Through slaloms and sweeps the car is GLUED to floor and inspire so much confidence to just keep on the throttle. If you're coming from a 300tw you will spend more time learning breaking zones and new limits as the better compound and stiffer side walls enable the car. Most corners where you would typically need to modulate throttle for a better exit, you'll instead just be taking them flat out. I've yet to experience understeer in the car since using them and have only gotten it to oversteer through patches of thick water.

Exceptional Track Day tire from Maxxis

The VR2 is as advertised from Maxxis. I was able to achieve a personal best and was also my first time trying their offerings. Fastest laps were the first session but as the day went on the performance has very little fall off across the 4 sessions we did. It was a cool day so that likely helped, but overall I was impressed with the pace and endurance of the tires . Definitely going to keep running these until they give out and I'll share my thoughts near the end of their life.
